BACCPAC is a Sage 300 SDK application, which facilitates and automates periodic backup operations that are defined according to user preferences. It provides you with an easy, convenient, accurate and secure way to configure and schedule backup procedures, across multiple Sage 300 company databases. Both automatic and manual backups can be specified. Restoring data is intuitive and easy. BACCPAC includes a Task Monitor that allows monitoring scheduled backups.
Version 5.5B onwards, BACCPAC is available in two Editions:
- BACCPAC Pro: With unlimited archive file size and support for external archiving tools.
- BACCPAC Lite: With archive file size limited to 500 MB and no support for external archiving tools.
Fully integrated with Sage 300, BACCPAC uses familiar features and functions to deliver safe backups and a rich functionality:

- Allows Using of WinRAR and WinZIP External Archival Tools to Compress The Backups.

BACCPAC™ Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What data can be backed up by using BACCPAC?
A. BACCPAC allows to back up company and system data, Shared Data and other data (for example LIC files and/or any set of files/folders.)
Q. How is the backup done by using BACCPAC?
A. The backup process includes the following steps:
- Database Dump or MS SQL backup of company and system data. MS SQL backups of company and system databases can be taken starting from version 2017
- Data compression and copy into the specified destination folder.
Q. In which destination are the backup files kept?
A. It is possible to select the destination folder for the backup type. You can select a local or a network folder, including a folder, which is synchronized with Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.
Q. Can BACCPAC be used to back up a Sage CRM database?
A. Yes, it is possible to take backups of non-Sage 300 databases, for example, Sage CRM and Ops Inquiry databases, using the MS SQL backup feature of BACCPAC. It is available starting from version 2017.
Q. Is it possible to perform Data Integrity before the backup?
A. Yes, the backup can be configured to perform Integrity Check of the specified modules before the backup. It can also be configured not to perform backup, if there are integrity check errors. The product allows also to run scheduled Integrity Check runs without taking a backup.
Q. Automatic backup is not processed as scheduled. What can be the possible reason?
A. To process automatic backups using BACCPAC earlier than version 2017, the Task Manager screen should be left open.
Starting from version 2017, a new Windows service, BACCPAC Scheduler, has been introduced, which handles automatic backups. To process the scheduled automatic backups, the service should be started. After introducing the new Windows service for handling automatic backups, there is no need to keep the Task Monitor/Manager screen open any more.

Q. Why am I not able to select the current company for backup?
A. For technical reasons, BACCPAC does not allow to back up company or system data for the company to which you are logged in. It is recommended to create a new company and system database for BACCPAC. Implement BACCPAC on this company defining backup types for all your companies.
Q. Is the company locked for other users during backup processing?
A. This depends on the options defined for the specific backup type. You may or may not lock the company, which is being backed up.
Q. How can I know whether the automatic backup was successful or not?
A. Backup can be configured to send an email notification about its results to the specified users at the end of the backup. You can also print the Backup Log report to view the status of the backup.
Q. What is the difference between BACCPAC Pro and Lite editions?
A. The BACCPAC Pro edition supports unlimited archived backup file size and external archiving tools, while the Lite edition limits the archived file size to 500 MB and it does not support external archiving tools.
Q. How can I buy BACCPAC?
A. To buy the product you need to have access to the SYSTRONICS Partners Area of our website. To do so you should create a partner account. Once you have the account, log in and request an activation code. The activation code will be dispatched to you after the settlement of the invoice.
